fictionkin is a connection, often spiritual, with a fictional character or species deep enough to identify as them.fictionkin often believe that they are/were a fictional character or species either now or in a past life.sometimes fictionkin is also used as a coping mechanism for neurodivergent people.

otherkin is a belief that you are in a way nonhuman. it is very similar to fictionkin, but with nonhuman creatures. those who are otherkin with earth animals are called therians.

A consciously created coping mechanism which centers around knowingly, willingly, and actively identifying as (or in some cases, with) the user’s choice of a non-human [or fictional entity.”

someone who is copingkin did not choose their kintype, but rather identifies as their kintype as an involuntary consequence of certain traumas, life experiences, or neurodivergencies.

KIN TYPES
My Primary Kin is Benry from HLVRAI! He was the first character I officially Kinfirmed and the character I Kin with the most Memories. Gordon Freeman from Half Life 2 is My Secondary Kin with no memories but more so Feelings around canon.(ex: seeing something and feeling a strong negative emotion)
my C!Tommy and C!Wilbur Kins are from the same Canon but Tubbo wasn't. Im Currently Unsure if my Xiao and Fischl had a shared Canon.
